Places to Visit

Angkor Wat
The temples of Angkor is what Cambodia is most famous for but it is worth your while to venture further afield to lively Phnom Penh, the hill tribes around Banlung and charming Battambang. Phnom Penh is home to the glistening Royal Palace and classic French colonial buildings. Fast expanding Siem Reap is the gateway to iconic Angkor, and Sihanoukville, Cambodia's only major beach resort, is made for some R&R. Little-visited Battambang is a treasure trove of faded colonial architecture and Angkorian temples.
Cruise the length of the great Tonle Sap Lake, heart of the country, and visit the floating villages, complete with petrol stations, schools and police. Discover the hill tribes around Banlung in the mountainous northeast. Cycle along the coastline to discover undeveloped beaches on the Gulf of Thailand.
